Mail is still delivered and collected here in the U.K. on Christmas Eve, and I believe the same is true for the U.S. also. They say that people in Strasbourg “set up fir trees in the parlors … and hang thereon roses cut out of many-colored paper, apples, wafers, gold-foil, sweets, etc.
