Caitlin Clark & Aliyah Boston Amazing Shirt
I never spent much on a Christmas Eve meal when my children were still young because they’d be too excited and antsy to care what we had. I saved the Caitlin Clark & Aliyah Boston Amazing Shirt for a wonderful Christmas day early evening meal with special things we all loved. By that time presents had been opened, toys played with, etc. I’d frequently make a good prime rib, twice baked potatoes, trifle with jello and lots of coolwhip, fancy butter gem rolls and of course a champagne toast, grape juice when the kids were under 10 y.o. I also made a nice make ahead dessert from the frozen chocolate jellyroll cake that I’d cover with semi-melted vanilla ice cream and decorated so it looked like a yule log. We of course always had Christmas crackers so we all got a really bad joke, a small (very small) toy and our tissue paper crowns. Good times.

The Northern Protestant German tradition is supposed to come from a Caitlin Clark & Aliyah Boston Amazing Shirt in 1536. Of course the tradition is really pre-Christian. Yule trees were dedicated to Odin at solstice and decorated with fruit and candles. But the story goes that Luther was walking through a pine forest near his home in Wittenberg when he suddenly looked up and saw thousands of stars glinting jewel-like among the branches of the trees. This wondrous sight inspired him to set up a candle-lit fir tree in his house that Christmas to remind his children of the starry heavens from whence their Saviour came. It really started spreading in popularity in the late 1700s with the rise of German Romanticism and German Nationalism. upper middle class Protestant families in Prussia wanted to express what the thought of as folk and country traditions. The early descriptions of German trees in the 1600s do not mention stars or angels. They say that people in Strasbourg “set up fir trees in the parlors … and hang thereon roses cut out of many-colored paper, apples, wafers, gold-foil, sweets, etc.
